Eliran Mizrahi IDF Suicide Death: Israeli soldier ordered to drive over Palestinians “dead or alive” took own life Gaza redeployment

An Israeli soldier committed suicide after being redeployed to Gaza. 40-year-old Elizan Mizrahi died from an apparent suicide following a battle with post-traumatic stress disorder. Eliran was among the soldiers allegedly ordered to dive over Palestinians “dead or alive” in the ongoing war against Hamas. Mizrahi died by suicide in June 2024 after receiving an order for re-deployment in Gaza. ⁣

Eliran Mizrahi, a 40-year-old father of four, was deployed to Gaza following Israel’s onslaught on the region on October 7, 2023. After six months in the war against Hamas, he returned home transformed, devastated by the horrors he had experienced. His family informed CNN that Mizrahi suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and was greatly affected by his experiences. Tragically, before he was supposed to redeploy, he ended his own life

“He left Gaza, but Gaza didn’t leave him. “And he died as a result of the post-trauma,” his mother, Jenny Mizrahi, explained.

The Israeli military claims to be treating thousands of soldiers suffering from PTSD and other mental health concerns induced by the war. The actual number of troops who committed suicide is unknown, as the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) has not provided official figures.

According to health ministry estimates in the Gaza Strip, Israel’s ongoing battle has killed more than 42,000 people over the last year. According to the United Nations, women and children account for a considerable part of the casualties.

During the ongoing Gaza conflict, an increasing number of Israeli soldiers are suffering from severe psychological trauma, with many committing suicide. Eliran Mizrahi, a soldier deployed to Gaza following Hamas strikes in 2023, is one such example.

Despite returning injured and receiving therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Eliran’s condition deteriorated, prompting him to commit suicide before his second deployment.
