James Farquhar arrested in Geelong stabbing incident that killed Jayme Sykes

There was a deadly stabbing that occurred in Geelong at approximately 5:30 in the morning on Sunday, and Victorian homicide investigators have charged a man with murder in connection with the incident. On Little Malop Street, Jayme “Chugs” Sykes was discovered by the police with stab wounds. He was brought to the hospital as soon as possible, but he did not survive his injuries.

Despite the fact that the specific circumstances surrounding the incident are currently being investigated, two additional males who were involved in the brawl presented themselves at the hospital and were being treated for injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.

An individual who is 26 years old and is from the town of Colac, which is located in the Western District of Victoria, went to a police station on Monday morning. He was taken into custody and has since been charged with one count of murder. He was identified on social media as James Farquhar.

The detectives will conduct an interview with him, according to the Victoria Police. The interviews with the other two individuals who turned themselves in at the hospital will take place at a later time.

One of the photographs taken at the scene of the incident showed blood splattered on a garden wall that was located outside of a state government building on Little Malop Street. Another photograph appeared to show blood smeared on a shop window that was located around 250 meters away on Downes Lane.

After hearing the news of Sykes’ passing, those who were close to him expressed their profound sorrow over the loss of the young man, who was just 20 years old.

A number of companies located in close proximity to the location where Sykes was stabbed were compelled to either shut down entirely or operate for only a few hours on Sunday.
