Nassau County Supreme Court Justice Dawn Jimenez-Salta tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident on Sunday afternoon, as reported by Suffolk police.

The accident occurred on the Long Island Expressway near Exit 68, shortly before 5:30 p.m. Justice Jimenez-Salta was a passenger on a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when it collided with a car.

Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead after being transported to a Suffolk County hospital. The driver of the motorcycle, a 65-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and remains hospitalized.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Justice Jimenez-Salta had a distinguished legal career that spanned over two decades. She began her judicial career in 1999 as a judge on the Kings County Housing Court and later served as a justice on the Kings County Supreme Court.

Known for her dedication to fairness and justice, her contributions to the judiciary were respected and appreciated throughout New York City and Long Island.
