It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Karen Henderson, a dedicated shift manager at World of Golf and a deeply respected figure within the local golfing community.
Karen’s influence and passion for golf extended far beyond her position at World of Golf; she was a true mentor, leader, and friend to countless individuals whose lives she enriched.
Karen held a special place in the hearts of golfers and students alike, most notably through her longtime role as the golf coach for Notre Dame Academy.
Her unwavering commitment to her team went beyond the greens; she instilled values of perseverance, integrity, and sportsmanship, fostering a supportive environment that helped young players develop both on and off the course.
Many of her students looked up to her not just as a coach, but as a role model who taught them life skills as enduring as their golf techniques. Her impact didn’t stop with Notre Dame Academy.
Karen also served as a coach for First Tee of Greater Cincinnati, where she guided youth golfers with patience and encouragement. She took particular pride in her role as a Girls Golf Site Director, championing the inclusion of young women in the sport and helping them discover their confidence and potential.
She was known to many as an advocate who tirelessly worked to expand opportunities for girls in golf, emphasizing the importance of mentorship and support within the sport.
As chair of the Queen City LPGA Tournament, she was instrumental in bringing high-level golf to her community and fostering a love for the game among both players and fans.
Karen was also a devoted mother and grandmother, roles she cherished deeply. Her son and grandson were her pride and joy, and she balanced her career and community commitments with an unwavering dedication to her family.
Karen’s legacy is one of kindness, commitment, and resilience, leaving behind a community inspired by her grace and passion. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, from her colleagues and players to her family and friends.
