After reading my post about Blaine’s death, he contacted me and wanted to interview me for his morning program the following day. He and Blaine had been friends for a very long time. He reassured me that it had to be done for the public’s sake, that he would treat me gently, and that it would only be a discussion rather than an interview, despite my lack of interest. I grudgingly consented because I could tell he was sincere. It was just as he had promised. Not a surprise. Even minutes before I went live, he reassured me and encouraged me to unwind. One legend was discussing another legend with another legend.
He brought out the best in me at a time when my entire life had just fallen apart, and I could see he genuinely loved Blaine. Even for a few minutes during the call, he made me smile and feel happy.
I will always remember that . I hope you’re up there interviewing Blaine about his four or more years in paradise. Rest in peace.
